ULLAS
ULLAS (Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society) is an initiative of the Government of India aimed at promoting adult education and lifelong learning. It focuses on achieving foundational literacy and numeracy for non- literate adults aged 15 years and above. The programme also includes Critical life skills, vocational skills, basic education, and continuing education to improve the quality of life of learners.
The State Centre for Literacy (SCL), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT, Assam) has developed ULLAS learning materials to support this initiative. These includes a concise primer and a handbook for volunteer teachers in Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, and English. The ULLAS compendium on Teaching Learning Materials released by the Ministry of Education, Govt. Of India has been translated into Assamese, Bengali, and Bodo. Additionally, worksheets, assessment sheets, awareness videos, e-content have been developed.
