Know Library Rules

SCERT Library:

The Library of SCERT is the Learning Resource Centre not only for the SCERT but it provides information services to TEIs as and when required. It’s an integral part of the institution. It has books on Political Science, Assamese Literature, Grammar Books, Psychology, Law, Environmental Studies, Sociology, Economics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Indian and English Literature, Reference Collections like Various dictionaries, general and subject encyclopaedias, SCERT text books.  Textual and supplementary reading materials relating to school curriculum, reports of various commissions, educational surveys and policy documents also finds a place in the library.

The library remains opens at the normal working hour i.e., at 10 a.m till 5 p.m. in all working days. The library remains close during the holidays of Government of Assam.  The books are issued to Officers, Faculties and Staff of SCERT, Assam. The library also provides reference services to the Researchers coming from outsides. The borrowers are permitted to loan all the books of the library except the reference collections viz., the encyclopedia, dictionaries, yearbooks, journals, magazines etc. The books once borrowed by the members are liable to their own safekeeping; they shouldn’t tear pages, underline or otherwise damage the library documents. The members are allowed to photocopy the loaned books. The readers are allowed to study books, journals, etc in the library. The Library has a reading room for the users.

The library houses approximately 10,000 plus documents including books, journals, and magazines. There are 5 both local and national newspapers in the library. 

Recently, Software for University Library (SOUL), a software has been installed for automation of the information of the Library.
