Holistic Education for Productivity and Harmony (HEPAH)
- Assam has initiated an innovative long-term project to provide Value Based Experiential learning in the schools of Assam in a phased manner. Preliminary project activities have started since mid-2020 and the rest are being conducted in right earnest with the aim of introducing these from the academic year 2021 in the government schools.
- The project mainly aims at bringing about a holistic development of children of Classes 1 to 10 through practice of a set of values and skills that would help them adapt to changes that enable them to be the change themselves for productivity and harmony based on the learning received in an interactive skill-based learner friendly environment.
- Handbooks for teachers supported by audio-video resources, puppets, cartoons, etc. will help in integrating the set of identified core values and skills into the existing curriculum and textbooks and transactional and assessment processes without increasing any academic burden.
- Teachers, teacher educators and writers involved in the content development process have been empowered with the help of Subject experts and Resource persons of NCERT, New Delhi, Universities and other organisations keeping the need of the times and New Education Policy 2020's aims in view to develop the curriculum guidelines and materials for different stages of school education.
